An Albuquerque man accused of forcing a 17-year-old girl into prostitution pled guilty on Thursday.
Kendell Morrell, 22, was sentenced to three years in prison and two years probation when he is released.
According to court documents, Morrell met the girl through Facebook.
When she indicated that she needed work, Morrell offered her a job then forced the girl to have sex with him.
Police said he then sold the girl for $150.
The Attorney General’s office said it’s working to crack down on human trafficking cases.
“The Attorney General’s border violence division is busy and they’re not going to stop whether they get tips or however they find out about these cases they will pursue them all the way to the courtroom and will get these people off the street,” Lynn Southard, the AG’s spokesperson said.
