Sentencing delayed in prostitution case
A man convicted of running a high-end, online prostitution ring avoided his sentencing Thursday morning after a judge learned the mans attorney was unavailable.
District Judge Denise Shepherd reset sentencing for Bobby McMullin for Monday after learning that attorney Bill Tinker was at an area hospital with his son who was involved in a car accident Wednesday.
McMullin was convicted by an Albuquerque jury back in May of 15 charges associated with his operation of the Private Ice prostitution ring.
Officials say that ring operated Websites that masqueraded as online escort services in order to pair prostitutes with customers.
McMullins attorney argued during the trial that McMullin had contracts with his escortsor contract employees, as his attorney termed themin which they pledged to do nothing illegal.
